Hebron's Penfold rolls 469 to lead all boys.
Kankakee Valley shows depth as Alyssa
Balboa and Rachel Ellenson pace Cougars to
big opening victory.  Hebron may be only true
threat.

Wow!  Boone Grove sets school record, posts
1,154 - 2,218.  Both scores move atop State
leaderboard.  Lynn Strohl sends message with
287-551 that he is the class of the conference.  
Challengers will include Hebron's Penfold (425),
Boone's Jimmy Kraushaar (483), KV's Randy
Mewes, and Lowell's Matt Milcarek.
Rensselaer's young gun Keegan Holbrook will
have his say as well.
KV's Grover leads girls with 380.  When, the
2007-08 1st team all-stater and Bowlers
Journal's top 50 girls recipient gets rolling, KV
will be nearly unstoppable.  Hebron quietly rolls
top series of week to move to 2-0 along with KV
and Boone Grove.

Casey Grover's 266-455 paces KV to victory
over Hebron.  Boone minus Lynn roll to victory.
Hebron's Fouse (371) and O'Leary (364)
provide powerful 1-2 knockout punch in battle
of unbeatens as Hawks cruise to victory over
Kankakee Valley.  Next up..unbeaten Boone
Grove and Kellyn Roth (364).

Boone Grove remains unbeaten, stuns Hebron
with wild and unexpected comeback as Lane
Strohl strikes out in 10th to secure 1/2 point.  
KV's Smenyak leads field with 450, while Lowell's
Matt Milcarek begins to get on track with 417.
Hebron avoids Boone Grove upset bid with
huge 2nd game attack led by Emily O'Leary's
203 and Joan Fouse's 183.

Bafia leads improved Lowell squad to victory with
solid 433.  Erick Babbit posts 403 as North
Newton downs Hanover Central
KV's Ellenson on fire with 428 set.

KV gains control of conference with exciting win
over Boone.  Randy Mewe's clutch 4/9
conversion in 10th frame pulls victory from the
jaws of defeat.  Boone's Kraushaar leads field
with 456.  Hebron rolls behind Anthony Morales'

Boone manhandles Rensselaer as Strohl and
Kraushaar go north of 450, sets up rematch with
unbeaten Cougars.  Milcarek leads Lowell to
victory with pin-bashing 268.
Rensselear's Russeau and River Forest's
Dreanna Robinson roll nice scores.  Unbeaten
Hawks appear destined for memorable season
as big 3 continue to dominate. O'leary's 360
tops all bowlers.

KV downs Boone Grove in another thriller.  
Teams split baker games 5-5, but KV totals 18
more pins for win.  Lowell continues hot streak,
moves into tie with Wolves for second.  Red
Devils look poised to make 2nd half run.
Hebron dominates KV to secure solid hold on
conference lead.  Hawks beginning to "fly"
away with conference title but can they avoid
another second half collapse like 2007?  KV
and other contenders will need to elevate their
games to reach the heights the Hawks are
soaring.

KV continues winning ways as Smenyak rolls
443.  Boone rolls past Lowell despite Mike
Bafia's career best 267-490.  BG's Kraushaar
rolls third high set (438) but falls twice to Bafia.
Lowell's Sydney Nantais tops all girls with 376 if
you exclude BG's JV player Paige Kraushaar
(385).  Hebron maintains perfect record with
easy victory.
