and Boone's Jimmy Kraushaar (5th) made their first state finals appearance. Grover, Strohl, Smenyak, and
Kraushaar were all named to the IHSB All State team.
Strong performances by Boone Grove Junior Lane Strohl (436), Boone
Senior Jimmy Kraushaar (423), and Rensselaer's Junior Tyler Justice
(411) paced the Boys. Boone Grove edged Rensselaer in the nights best
match 16-4 while defending champions Kankakee Valley steam rolled a
young Hanover Central squad despite missing two of it's main cogs in
Casey Grover and Derek Smenyak. Rensselaer's Keegen Holbrook
opened with the days top game (247) but was unable to conquer the
changing conditions of game two. Hebron defeated North Newton in the
third match.
Rachel Ellenson, Kankakee Valley junior, led all girls with a fine
respectable 392 series as KV routed Hanover Central 20-0.
Boone Grove freshman Paige Kraushaar struggled with nerves in
a 419 series. Along with teammate Danielle Alberson, the pair
paced a balanced Wolves attack against a partial Rensselaer
lineup. Hebron, behind senior Jaime Sherman and sophomore
Emily O'Leary rolled by North Newton.
Lowell had the bye and will begin action on November 9th at
Country Lanes.
